Commemorative plaque to Sergei Mikhalkov

The commemorative plaque to Sergei Mikhalkov was unveiled on March 13, 2013 on the building No. 35 at Povarskaya St. This event was timed to the 100th anniversary of the legendary poet’s birth.
Before the ceremony the poems of Sergei Vladimirovich have been broadcast through loudspeakers in his own performance. The ceremony was attended First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Aleksandr Zhukov, Russian Culture Minister Vladimir Medinsky, Minister of the Government of Moscow, the head of the Moscow Department of Culture Sergei Kapkov, Mikhalkov’s widow Yulia Subbotina, Tatyana – his son Nikita Mikhalkov’s wife, president of the Russian Academy of Arts Zurab Tsereteli and numerous admirers of the writer, many of whom were holding flowers.
